About Me

I have loved reading and writing since I was a child. I can still fondly remember my mum reading me my first novel: Heidi by Johanna Spyri. I read whatever I can get my hands on, but have always been a big fan of fantasy novels and used to dream of writing my own series.

However, I eventually began writing fantasy by accident. Fire started off with a description of a girl on a beach, waiting for her friend to return. It wasn't until I added Roxy to the mix that the idea for the elemental powers began to take shape. I started writing Fire when I was 15, but didn't finish it until I was in my final year at university. The novel now bears almost no resemblance to the story I began as a teen, but the image of the girl on the beach endured. Following a period of unsuccessful querying and out of desperation to share my story, I decided to self-publish Fire through Amazon. Since then I have written and self-published two more novels: Water and Air.

I have completed two further novels and have plans for many more. You can stay up to date with my current writing plans on the blog, twitter and Wattpad.

I studied English and Latin literature at the University of Warwick, where I met my husband, ran a martial arts club and started playing flag American Football. I spent two years working as a secondary school librarian, a job I loved as I got to spend all day discussing and recommending YA novels, as well as feeling like I was living out my childhood fantasy of being Belle from Beauty and the Beast! I am now a teaching assistant, which I love even more (although I do miss the books).
