2017 Books I can't wait for

There are so many amazing books coming out in 2017, but these are the three I am looking forward to the most.

Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth

On a planet where violence and vengeance rule, in a galaxy where some are favored by fate, everyone develops a currentgift, a unique power meant to shape the future. While most benefit from their currentgifts, Akos and Cyra do not—their gifts make them vulnerable to others’ control. Can they reclaim their gifts, their fates, and their lives, and reset the balance of power in this world?

Cyra is the sister of the brutal tyrant who rules the Shotet people. Cyra’s currentgift gives her pain and power—something her brother exploits, using her to torture his enemies. But Cyra is much more than just a blade in her brother’s hand: she is resilient, quick on her feet, and smarter than he knows.

Akos is from the peace-loving nation of Thuvhe, and his loyalty to his family is limitless. Though protected by his unusual currentgift, once Akos and his brother are captured by enemy Shotet soldiers, Akos is desperate to get his brother out alive—no matter what the cost. When Akos is thrust into Cyra’s world, the enmity between their countries and families seems insurmountable. They must decide to help each other to survive—or to destroy one another. {Goodreads summary}

Why I want to read it: Roth teased the opening online and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.

A Court of Wings and Ruin by S J Maas

Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin's maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit-and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well.

As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords-and hunt for allies in unexpected places.  {Goodreads Summary}

Publishing: May
Why I want to read it: Why would anyone not want to read it? The ending ACOMAF still has me on tenterhooks.

Strange the Dreamer by Lani Taylor
Strange the Dreamer is the story of:

the aftermath of a war between gods and men
a mysterious city stripped of its name
a mythic hero with blood on his hands
a young librarian with a singular dream
a girl every bit as perilous as she is imperiled
alchemy and blood candy, nightmares and godspawn, moths and monsters, friendship and treachery, love and carnage.

Welcome to Weep. {Goodreads Summary}

Publishing: March
Why I want to read it: Because I loved her previous series and that summary is amazing!

Which 2017 releases are you looking forward to the most? Let me know in the comments.

  1. There are so many book I can't wait for in 2017! I can't decide about Roth's new book I am a cautious Science-fic reader as some books in that genre I just haven't enjoyed but, since it is V. Roth I am all for giving it a try. Who isn't excited for ACOWAR? Such an amazing series will be sad to see it end! I am not sure about Strange the Dreamer the teaser for it was just a bit ... well, strange! I think I will have to read her other series first, have heard nothing but great things about it.

    1. The section Roth posted online was really good - well worth checking out to decide if you think you'd like it. I will be sad to see ACOWAR finish too, I think ToG might be ending this year as well, so I can't wait to see what she moves onto next. I loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone, but her writing is a little strange!
